I've now had this bike for 6 months and have over 2,400 miles on the odometer. That said, considering what I know about this bike now, I'd buy it again today, in a heartbeat. It's an excellent bike and suites my needs exactly. Before finding this bike on Amazon I tried several bikes in local shops to understand the fundamental features. I got this bike for exercise and for my short commute to work. I needed a bike that could accommodate my bad knees, ruined by athletics and years of running on hard pavement. I am unable to effectively ride a regular bike in the area where I live, which is very hilly (Seattle area). On a normal bike (my 15-year old mountain bike) I can't transfer enough energy to the pedals to get up the final street to my house, my knees don't allow it. This bike takes the edge off the hills but still allows me to minimize or turn off the assist when I don't really need it. I don't use this bike off-road as a mountain bike. I use it for riding on paved roads and urban biking/walking trails.
The extra grip a 50lb e-bike normally helps to prevent overshooting corners when on the brakes, and bring pure DH-bike-like fun factor on the steepest trails. This electric Orange, however, rides more like a ‘standard’ enduro bike with a motor, which could be good or bad, depending on your expectations and riding style. It’s built tough and delivers stacks of fun in less time than any regular bike can. Adding a motor hasn’t upset Orange’s superb geometry.


This is a good electric bike with all the features that you could ever desire from your model. It is affordable, high tech savvy and can accommodate a range of different body heights and shapes owing to its clever design and strong frame. Therefore, it really is very versatile. You don’t have to be a pro biker to purchase it, as it can be just as fun to ride around town or cycle out on your daily commute.
A few days after receiving the bike I received an email from Homdox asking if everything arrived ok and how the bike was working out. I let them know about the broken handle on the gear shift and sent them pictures. They replied on the first business day that followed stating they'd send a replacement. So... impressions right now are good. Hopefully the part arrives quickly and is in fact the right part.

The bike comes partly disassembled for shipping, so you'll have to attach the handlebars, pedals, front light, quick-release saddle and front wheel. In all, it'll take you around 30 minutes including removing all the cable ties and packaging. The tools to do this are included, but you might prefer you use your own screwdriver and spanners as the supplied tools are poor quality.
We think that the Ancheer Folding Electric Mountain Bike looks (mostly) great. The frame is finished very well and the wheel are striking. The only complaint we have with the looks and the overall design is how they decided to implement the battery pack. The little pouch at the front looks out of place and can feel a bit cumbersome. We would have liked if they could have potentially attached it, or better yet integrated it into the horizontal part of the main frame. I understand the difficulties of doing this as the bike has the folding mechanism but it would have been nice if they’d have managed it.
M8 has had a cube with the Bosch motor, reduced from Europe but a solid spec & loves it, been cycling more because of it. It definitely brings a smile to your face, laughing at climbs that you’d normally slog up. Horrible muddy trails become a motocross frenzy, balance being more the issue than grip or momentum. He’s happy to lend it on rides, so three of us all different sizes, jump on it & it doesn’t mater that it not set up for you, the motor makes up for any details
“The Ancheer Power Plus is a really nice e-bike.  It rides well and has lots of goodies including LED lights and a nice electric horn.  I like that it is pedal assist – all you have to do is set it to how much pedal assist you want and it does the rest without having to turn the throttle.  The only thing I found and maybe I’m missing something is that when the bike is folded there doesn’t appear to be a clasp which makes it difficult to carry.”
This Ancheer Electric Mountain Bike is absolutely great. I will gladly give it a 10 star if possible. However, one piece of advice for any intending buyer; make sure you dry the battery terminals after washing your bike. The bike will not power up once there is moisture at those interface.I have experienced this a few times over the last two months I've had my e-bike. It is annoying when you only find out, at the time you are rushing off to work.
After losing my licence due to poor decisions, I decided that I was going to have to get a mountain bike. After weeks of research and checking state laws, I decided to buy this Ancheer Electric Mountain Bike. After all, I would be paying the same amount for a decent mountain without a motor. And I must say that I dont regret my purchase. When I got it out of the box and put it together, I was surprised at the quality. Then I took it to the gas station and filled the tires with air and got on and pulled back the throttle. I couldnt stop smiling and laughing . The power was not what i expected. I weigh 235 and it pulled me rather quickly. So me being me, I had to test this thing out to see what it got. That first week iI bet I did at least 150 mi untill I got a flat back tire. I discovered that can go almost 20 mi on a charge in pedal assist mode. And there were some pretty steep hills on some of my treks. Thats the beauty of this bike, you can go full speed on flat to semi hilly roads. And then when you hit those steep hills you have plenty of energy to tackle them,and the pedal assist helps all along the way. For me its the perfect marriage of exercise and being able to go where i want to go without being exhausted. Since then I added a cargo rack and bag, lights for night riding and speedometer. I would definitely recommend buying this bike just because its fun.

The build quality, however, is generally fantastic. It feels sturdy and strong, the clip to hold the fold in place never feels like it’s coming loose and the wheels feel like they can conquer anything. Also the suspension system is quite impressive and isn’t even included on the non-folding Ancheer Electric Mountain Bike. Before this test we thought more travel on an e-bike would obviously be better. After all, with the motor flattening out the climbs, why not have the extra suspension firepower to smooth out the descents? Sounds reasonable, doesn’t it? But in the case of the Specialized Turbo Kenevo Expert, the extra travel and weight make the bike less effective and less engaging on all but full-on downhill tracks. And if that’s your bread and butter, the Kenevo could well be the perfect topping. Here in the UK though, the Vitus proved more versatile, just as capable and way better value.

Had my ebike for nearly 2 months now and covered 500 miles. A lovely bike to ride, and not had a single problem until now. Overall I love this bike and find pleasure in riding it. Get your cadence right and its a great ride. The more effort you put in, the more the battery will help you, everything seems easier on this ebike compared to my old normal bike.

The price has also crept up to reflect the changes. The biggest transformation however, is that Rocky Mountain has raised the ebike bar to a new high with the Altitude Powerplay.
Merida has done an amazing job with the EOne-Sixty 900E. It has a fun, playfully ride quality that few ebikes can match, and the price is simply unbeatable. It’s also the only sub 50lb bike in this test, and that’s without a single strand of carbon. It could be even better though. With a two degree slacker head angle and a little more power from the Shimano motor the EOne-Sixty would be able to keep up on the climbs, only to drop the competition on every descent. The biggest issue though, is actually getting hold of one.

This model gets a spot on our rankings thanks to its great build quality and nice top speed. It doesn’t hurt that it’s affordable and from a trusted brand as well. It has a max speed of 18 miles per hour, a powerful 500 W motor and it delivers 40 minutes of continuous use.
With an electric mountain bike (or e-MTB) that gives you assistance up to 25kph, it’s possible to pack twice as much riding into the same amount of time. Those five great trails that you normally ride after work can now be ridden twice. That boring singletrack climb on your lunchtime loop suddenly becomes the highlight of your day. With the extra push from the motor it’s easy to double the distance covered, or do the same ride in half the time.
A couple of weeks in, I had a wreck (brakes were mounted reverse of what I'm used to; front wheel locked up during a turn). The half-throttle/light/horn assembly was damaged beyond repair. Emailed the official company account and the supposed owners' account several times; no response. I had to buy a near-identical part from a Chinese company and re-wire it myself.
I continued to have issues with the rear brakes. The rear disc brake was bending when I braked and I could not figure out how to get it from rubbing on the pads. I eventually took the bike over to REI and paid for a tune-up. Fantastic work by them, the bike has a better top speed by a couple mph now and shifting/braking are much smoother. I was also having issues with the chain jumping off the front derailleur on high torque (high gear from standstill). Looks like I just needed the experts to give it the tune.
Not sure if there’s any in Southampton but there’s a couple of specialist electric bike shops in the Brighton area that sell them and they seem happy to let people do test rides. Probably the best way to decide if they’re the right thing for you and what you want to do. Would happily accompany you for a ride round Stanmer if you came over this way for a test.
Why We Like It: This is the best electric folding bike for 2019. It has great features along with portability. The ANCHEER Folding Electric Bike is the bike that we tested. We love that the bikes battery can be removed. It performs great, has a comfortable speed, decent range and is light and durable. The only minor issues we had are that the headlight is made cheaply and for the speed/range we felt that it should charge just a bit faster.
It is not a off-road motorbike with an electric engine and a throttle. Electric mountain bikes have motors that only work when you’re pedalling. The motor tops-up your pedalling input. It’s called ‘pedal assist’. There are differing levels of assistance (called things like ‘eco’ and ‘turbo’) that you select via a handlebar-mounted control unit. The motor also cuts out once you reach 25km/ph (or faster). There are strict limits on the power of electric mountain bikes; 250w is the maximum nominal power. More powerful than that and the bike requires tax and insurance (like a car/motorbike) and is also not allowed on bridleways at all.

I was up at Aviemore last September and borrowed the Scott E-Spark from Bothy Bikes and within an hr i returned to the shop with a stupid goofy grin on my face and ordered the Scott E-Genuis 710+, i had to wait 4 months till they were released but David got me one of the first to arrive and i drove up to collect it the following week, i’ve not regretted buying it for one second 😀 .

With electric only mode and heavy, steep, long hills this bike does its job pushing through a 16 mile commute with some energy to spare with a 190lb load of me and my gear. This bike could do much more with flat and pedal assist modes maybe twice as far. Recommend you use smaller tires 1.75 vs the standard 1.95 to achieve my results. Continental contact travels work great!
Meter with 3-speed smart buttons: The speed button helps you to choose how first you want to go. The bike is by default at ‘’low’’ level. To increase the peddle assist level, press the ‘’+’’ and you will switch from low, to mid or high. “High” is the maximum level that will provide fast speed while pedaling, and to decrease speed level you need to press the ‘’-” button. The ’-” can also be used to eliminate the three pedal assist levels and switch into pure E-bike where you are only required twist the throttle as you cruise all the way.
With 170mm travel, aggressive angles and Shimano’s superbly calibrated STEPS motor, the Focus Sam2 is an enduro bike with a built-in shuttle. With the bolt on TEC pack you really can climb to new heights, but without it the smaller capacity internal battery means you need to be ultra economical with your energy use. It’s also frustrating that the internal battery can’t be removed easily for charging. By far the biggest frustration with the Jam2 though is that the sizing isn’t very generous and standover clearance is limited. It’s still a great e-bike, but when you’re spending this much money, you can afford to be fussy.

E-enduro bikes aren’t as different to regular bikes as one might imagine. All of the fundamentals are the same and by nailing the geometry and sizing Vitus has produced an amazing e-bike with the E-Sommet VR.Sure there are a couple of little things we’d probably change, like the STEPS Di2 mode shifter and rear tyre, but that’s about it. And given how much cheaper the Vitus is compared to the competition, you can easily afford to make these changes and even buy a spare battery. The E-Sommet VR is no golf buggy, but Vitus has it’s certainly hit a hole in one with this bike.

It is a nice bike for the money, it has some nice features. However the instructions did not fit the bike model. The given web sites noted in the instructions did not work. Went online and had to visit several other sites to get the instructions for this bike. No one site fit the bike. Very fustrating. It would be nice if the throttle also worked with the other modes. Seat is very uncomfortable. I will change that. Bike was not well packaged. I was glad to see bike was not damaged in shipment.

Big Bird, you make some great points. One. Where is the line drawn between electric bike and motorcycle. Two. It would allow those who might not be able to enjoy the outdoors mobility. In my opinion I feel electric bikes lean more to the motorcycle side of things. Don't get me wrong, I ride and share certain trails with motos, however not all trails are open to them. Here is where I see the potential for conflict among other user groups with electric bikes. That being said your idea for stickers for the disabled seems to make sense. So now the question is, electric bike or electric motorcycle? How is it defined?

With three levels of assistance, the the ANCHEER Power Plus lets you enjoy a fun and easy ride every time . If you want to reach your destination without breaking a sweat, the Pure Electric Mode or full throttle mode will give you the full power you want. But, if you want a light cardio workout but with a little assistance, use the Pedal Assist Mode. Want the feel of a traditional bike? Use the Regular Bike mode. 

My first instinct is that it's a horrible idea. We're cyclists because we are fit enough. We've earned our way to the top. Why should some couch surfer be able to meet me there to enjoy the downhill? (I'd beat him down of course because my bike is lighter and more nimble.) And also, where do you draw the line between an electric bike and an electric motorcycle? I'd hate to meet a Zero FX or MX coming up the downhill trail I'm riding.
So whether you want to achieve physical fitness or just want to avoid daily traffic to work or school, the Ancheer Power Plus has got you covered. But of course, if you want to achieve maximum benefit out it as a workout tool, you will have to do more of the peddling than cruising. Whoa what a week what a week for bike launches we've seen the new Bosch motor a couple of weeks ago and that more compact motor with the new into batteries led to a whole host of e bikes being launched not only that but Shimano have introduced their new internal battery which is the 500 watt


I’m sure the can of worms has already been opened on this subject… Oh it’s motor bike blah blah they should be banned, is this whining mostly from strava whippets who’s times might be beaten? I raced motocross for 12 years & they are motorcycles with a internal combustion engine and yes they do make a mess of the country side but on land that has been allowed & nowadays has planning permission to be used for such events.
What i’d really like is the ability to custom tune the standard speed settings with regard to the torque curve/output and perhaps have a top speed of 18mph or thereabouts, back when i could ride a normal bike under my own steam there were some sections of my local trails where i could easily maintain 20mph+ through the single track (allowing for acceleration out of the corners) as it was on a slight fall line. It’s all brain-farts at the moment so the tuning kit is still in my toolbox and it may stay in there.

This is alongside the 21-speed gear system, which means easy riding everywhere and anywhere and a bike that really accommodates your weight and height. You can ride up to 50 KM on one single charge owing to the powerful battery.
