So it's time to get yourself one of those fancy new electric bikes that are passing you by on your morning commute. To help you find the latest in E-Vehicle technology and make sure you spend your hard-earned money on the best model, we purchased and tested the top 40 electric bikes on the market today. During our tests, we measured things like motor power, maximum range, top speed and overall weight limit. We also looked at more subtle things like comfort and additional features like removable batteries and charging times.
With different degrees of assistance at your fingertips, riders of varying fitness levels are easily accommodated on the same ride too. Which, depending on who’s setting the pace, can bring a social aspect back to big days out, because you can all ride together and the assistance from the motor makes it that much easier to string a coherent sentence together even on the steepest climbs. How do you ride an electric mountain bike?

The bike looks a no different than a regular mountain bike. The 36 V, 8Ah Li-Ion battery is very cleverly designed and disguised as a thermos, so you will not be able to tell whether this is an e-bicycle or a regular one unless you get really close. It is very nicely build, and pretty sturdy; the frame is 100% alloy and the front fork is made with high-grade carbon steel. The bike itself weighs about 45 lbs.

A durable Alpha Platinum Aluminum frame that fully encases a long-range 500Wh battery for great aesthetics and ride quality on the trail, a Bosch Performance CX motor and an ergonomic Purion controller. Plus, 130mm front and rear travel with a RockShox Revelation RL fork, grippy 27.5+ mid-fat tires, Tubeless Ready Bontrager Line Comp wheels with a 54-tooth Rapid Drive hub, a dropper post, and an 11-speed Shimano SLX/XT drivetrain.
It wasn't all gold stars for the Bulls, however, as the larger battery storage of this bike makes it the heaviest in our test. This heavyweight rig is far from nimble or agile, giving it a more one-dimensional performance on the descents, and hampering its climbing abilities in technical sections or tight corners. Its charging port is also recessed into the frame making it one of the least user-friendly, and while we did like their e-bike controls, they couldn't quite match the ergonomics or display of some of the competition. Overall, we had a blast riding the E-Stream EVO AM 4, read on to find out how it compares.

Moreover, the ergonomic bike has a large wheel of about 26-inches, which makes the ride smooth irrespective of the terrain. It is a great electric bike that is suitable for cycling even at night hours due to the 10W efficient electric headlight. With the high grade cushioning effect and adjustable seat, it is an excellent electric bike suited for all users. The E-bike also has the anti-slip and wear resistant tires, which makes it highly reliable and safe.
The e-bike is driven by a large capacity lithium-ion battery. This makes it suitable for long hours of the ride. It also has two working modes. The assisted bike and e-bike mode; hence when it runs out of battery, you can pedal to complete the journey. It has been built from the best quality of aluminum alloy frames to ensure that it provides years of service. The wheels are also large and provide excellent movement on all surfaces.

The demands for the best eMTB are high. It has to climb efficiently, be comfortable to ride, be very stable and composed, yet, on top of that, be a lot of fun on the descents. Also, its integration, ease of use, and motor performance must set the benchmark. Although all the motors perform at a high level, the Bosch Performance CX is unable to keep up with the competition due to the high internal resistance it generates at over 25 km/h. It’s a pity for the Moustache Samedi Race 11: it’s by far the best Bosch bike we’ve ever ridden, but it’s slowed down by the motor. With a price tag of € 5,999, the Trek Powerfly 9 LT Plus is clearly the cheapest bike in this group test. It climbs very efficiently, but is held back on the downhills by a poor choice of tyres and slow handling – you should consider a tyre upgrade in your budget. The Haibike XDURO Nduro descends with the stability of a freight train, but it has to let the competition overtake it when going back up. With its long 180 mm travel and high weight (24.54 kg), it even feels cumbersome on the downhills.

There's a lot to like about the Giant Trance E+ 2 Pro starting with its reasonable price. Electric mountain bikes are expensive, and the Trance E+ 2 comes in under $5K with a nice component specification. The build is one reason why this bike performs so well on the trail, with a beefy fork, plush suspension, meaty tires, and powerful brakes that can handle the heavy weight of this rig. It's also got a nice modern geometry that helps it perform very well on the descents while still maintaining reasonable climbing abilities. It has a 504Wh battery and proved to be one of the most efficient in using that power in our distance range testing. There's no lack of power on tap when you need it, and it delivers it smoothly with little motor noise. Giant finishes it all off with nice integration of the battery and motor into the frame design for a super clean look.

Merax e-bike features a 7 speed Shimano gear system, aluminum alloy frame, front fork suspension and CST Jet brand tires.  This bike is absolute great value for the price, although it does not come fully assembled and it does take some time to get the disc brakes sorted and the shifting tuned. But directions provided were accurate, tools are provided, and you will be able to take it out on trails or around town in no time.
Built around a heavy-duty alloy frame, the GSD eschews many of the traits of other cargo bikes: long wheelbases, bigger wheels, and especially, an unwieldy ride. Yet it boasts an extensive capacity, nimble handling—even fully loaded, thanks to a short wheelbase and 20-inch wheels—and enduring range in a package not much bigger than most non-cargo e-bikes. The stout frame holds a 250-watt Bosch motor that gives up to 275 percent of your power back to the pedals and reaches 20 mph. The GSD has room for two battery packs, extending the batteries’ combined range to a claimed 150 miles and making the Tern one of the longest-lasting e-bikes on the market. A laundry list of accessories and a (claimed) 396-pound carrying capacity round out the GSD’s status as an epic day-tripper.
The Ranger’s also got lots of features that make it a safe, comfortable ride when you’re on the hunt. Its huge 4.5in wide wheels paired with a 7-speed Shimano hub will help you go uphill and back on any terrain easily. The hydraulic suspension on this ride will have you riding like a champ, and in those times you need to stop on a dime, the disc brakes will kick in without hesitation and won’t slip even in the wettest conditions. Hands down, the Quiet Kat 750w Ranger is the best choice for any hunter.
I continued to have issues with the rear brakes. The rear disc brake was bending when I braked and I could not figure out how to get it from rubbing on the pads. I eventually took the bike over to REI and paid for a tune-up. Fantastic work by them, the bike has a better top speed by a couple mph now and shifting/braking are much smoother. I was also having issues with the chain jumping off the front derailleur on high torque (high gear from standstill). Looks like I just needed the experts to give it the tune.
Getting down even the most impossible trails will be a like riding down a smooth country road because of the bike's Kenda Sport Juggernaut 4.8 inch tires.  If you need to stop quickly while riding the Puma, you will be happy to find that you have at your disposable a pair of powerful hydraulic disc breaks.  Great for staying hidden while approaching game, this bike comes with a digital camo finish.
The gears don't seem to keep up on this bike. There are 21 gears, same as my other bike, but there is much more resistance at the highest gear on my other bike going 20mph than there is on this bike. The reason that is an issue is that during pedal assist, the bike goes pretty quick and I don't want to be pedaling air, I want some, just a little, resistance. I don't know the mechanics of it or how this would be the case, perhaps because this bike has smaller wheels than my other bike? The bike came pretty well adjusted on the derailleurs. I haven't touched the back but the front I've had to mess with a little. The chain fell off outboard once, so had to adjust. Chain guard did its job well. The chain got stuck pretty good, but once I loosed the chain guard everything was easily moved.
I appreciate the pragmatic exploration of sex bots. I think it's silly when people believe our technology will become more human like. We already have plenty of humans. Instead our tech will be always be complimentary to humanity. With sex there are plenty of examples. How about music to make the mood romantic? No need to keep a minstrel in the bedroom anymore. Porn (when it's non exploitative) enables a small number of individuals that agree to be paid to be watched having sex to be appreciated at scale by individuals that want to watch sex. And then there are sex toys that create completely different sexual experiences from human only experiences. And while these things can displace human interaction they don't actually replace it.

They’re much more undetectable than dirt bikes and ATV’s: Animals work off of their senses, and as a hunter, you already know that loud noises will scare off the game, and lots of movement will make game and fish that much harder to catch. Not only that, but the smell of gas and even your sweat can send prey running. An electric motor doesn’t rev as loud or make anywhere near the amount of vibration as gas engines do. You and your bike won’t produce a bunch of unwanted odor when you ride, so you’re looking at a better chance of getting your kill faster and more efficiently with an e-bike.
One thing that separates these two are their warranties.  Rambo offer a 1 year limited warranty.  While Quietkat offer a 1 year limited warranty on all it's components including the battery, but each frame is covered by a lifetime warranty.  Quietkat have been around longer and are a proven, reliable manufacturer.  They've got it figured out and this year's catalog shows just how good they are.  Rambo is a new, small company with big ambitions and a quality product that they can stand behind.
This is fantastic and, oddly, mindblowing to me.A decade ago I was working at a local college in IT, and one of the my duties was building/maintaining and monitoring the distance learning rooms, which were equipped with queued cameras tied directly to microphones on each desk, and blah blah blah, those classes connected via hardware codec to other classroom across the state (or in some cases, country) to broadcast a live class to multiple classrooms. Our head end had 30 hardware codecs, a 128in/128out AV router, and required a central bridge to connect multiple endpoints and designate the main source and corresponding layout. Dozens of miles of copper were spread around the campus tied to hundreds of miles of fiber connecting our satellite campuses, all costing literally millions of dollars to create. Now they can do it on Twitch with a basic internet connection and free software. In HD. Holy crap, I am an old man with an onion on my belt, but the progress we have made in a short amount of time is awesome.

now whether it be motors or geometry or indeed componentry so many lessons have been learned in the world of a mountain by again since his birth back in what 2012 something like that what about the human element of it all I've learnt so much along the way so today we're gonna be showing you guys our top five lessons learned [Music] now I've heard of a lot of lessons that Chris Smith has learnt in his long bank to buy career no more so than he'd broken back broken neck broken arm broken leg broken ankle broken wrists Matt's been done it's been done for Chris but come on take us away take us to the list of your top lessons learned on an email Mike well I think when I first started out my biggest mistake was in turbo or boost mode everywhere I didn't learn about eco in the art of eco get the most out of battery after you go would you believe it yes again the most of that and doing you know riding more trails still at a good pace I'm taking that that is your number five that's number five number four add maintenance getting back after a ride maybe a night ride sticking the bike in the shed expecting it work don't just know you don't expect it to work like clockwork the next time you get on it I think if you have to do one little bit of maintenance chain maintenance degrease and a lube is the one for Evite's digital wrong kit so rat wearing the wrong kit on this big rides I didn't used to really do massive rides I wasn't a big fan of wearing shammies and short liners and things like that and even chamois butter you heard that right well I did see you had a type of chamois butter on that trip to Mont Blanc which unfortunately you got along but yeah definitely chamois on an e-bike chamois NC common and even like big waterproof jackets in those horrible weather eyes then you got you know a lot of adverse weather on the ebike and then I think the higher pressure its suspension so I can from slopestyle and freeride and we were just like 80 psi in the tires max a shock set ends you know 350 psi on the shocks and nearly they looked like a suspension fork but actually didn't do a job so getting the right tire pressures and suspensions and ask you question but you still do a huge range ride and you do still do free ride riding I still drag you around trial sections do you still have huge sigh pressures yeah I still run you like big jumps 40 psi stuff so we still don't quite like that right I think so but it's just for those big jumps you do need those bigger tire pressures but I was sometimes plus 40 psi and it's just like riding a rock down the hill come on let's have you what is your number one lesson learned I think investing in a second batch is one of my best things that I've learned it just opens up the doors to actually what an e-bike is for you can write it hundreds of kilometres you can turn up the turbo boost you name it whichever power mode you want sometimes you know you know be restricted by keeping an eco all day you can just open up the doors and let it go don't have to stick in your backpack you can put it in your car just ride your bike all day long without range anxiety range anxiety open up the doors and letting it go one thing what is this was the lesson learned there have you been stranded on any bike I have written any bike flat and it's not a lot of fun as I'm sure you have to mm-hmm now Steve you've been riding for a few years - yeah well I'm gonna give you a next to it I'm gonna give you six not sighs I think number six on the list has got to be heart rate monitor because it just keeps you honest I think you see honest on your eyes you can keep it keep track of your of your rides you've been doing and then just go out harder next time just make sure you keep you fitness up like this my number six yeah number five I think has got to be and not knowing your your range which comes back to the you range anxiety yeah but I know exactly that on a semi water of actually I can do about five thousand feet of climbing but we're all different because when I did tour Mont Blanc and if I told you at the tormal block not hurt the Fabri sorrow to me he was fifty kilograms and he he was able to do ten thousand feet of climbing on one battery so get it to know those figures is really is a key part of from the most important part of you display I think number four has got to be China well you need just discovered that this year really is the nectar of email and biking yeah and then three and two Nestle to all but numbers now sizing is very important on a mounted bike because I'm sure you've heard it a zillion times getting that balance between the weight and the front of your bike and the weighting on the rear of your bike is very critical in terms of climbing and also descending yeah and number two has got to be chain stays and geometry mm-hmm making that short back end or along back end can make big differences it's all about I think the ebike world is still like manufacturers are still kind of zoning in on a sweet spot but it's not just what the chain stays but the bond bracket and the wheel base and getting that balance between the two and you're number one Steve come on hit me with it well I have to say that I've had the pleasure of running some of the world's best man buckets Sam Hill Lika varsity peaked fobian Burrell and to ride with people who can really really righty man bikes now I know you can you're the man when it comes to jumps and stuff like that but the likes of Nico vouilloz and Fabian brow on ebikes they they really opened my eyes to think in what sport holy now that is something really special there's something really really special and and to get a chance to go and ride with a rider who is better than you will definitely progress you're riding no end so they are there are mine Chris's top five top five lessons learned what were your lessons learned which what's your most important ones since you've been a mountain biking or indeed whether you're gonna be a biking what you think other things you need to learn first and foremost let's know in the comments down below Colbert have launched a new wild fs1 60ml travel carbon-fiber trail bike 160 milk from the Basque Country and then the place in the Basque Country where they goes guys come from yeah 625 what our battery yes a full carbon boss generator for motor on there yeah so it is looking really class yeah nice cool shop on the back as well it looks like it's got full xtr on it as you as you mentioned the the Gen 4 Bosch plus a 602 a five-hour battery range called shock looks like the three sizes small large and extra-large I'll be checking out this the sizing on this bike now at 6 foot looks like I'm just on the boundary between large and extra-large so it comes with a 455 millimeter reach on the large and obvious bigger and extra so I think I probably lean more towards the XL on that bike yeah 455 isn't a Vette reach and also for the chain stays well on that bike nice nice rounded balanced off number 14 a Frenchman or a center and a little while about really looks at and Meredith marina a 160 and now they've got a little brother the e140 says 140 mill travel trail bike and this one looks amazing I think that I think the Pont decorous is why would you choose the 140 Emery dev over the 160 Marita I think maybe if you're slightly more trail based cross country style kind of ride in as opposed to maybe like you are a style like maybe if you're based in the UK if he can get away those short travel bikes like I'm below us Tyler UK sir UK stout yeah trail centres don't really require that massive big trail trail biking miles I think you get away that 130 mode trouble ok maybe I'll ride the newer on quite a lot in some of the bigger stuff that's hundred talking about travel 29-inch wheels it seems pretty capable there you go now as you might have noticed our climb of the week as certainly morphed into more of a ride and jump of the week I know you've got some gloss to action bluster in the center of the UK yeah I've got this one in from Lee they're absolutely shredding they're Canino experts over the four one seven bike park got a new big jump lineup man just look at this after you said that they look like 4050 photos yeah isn't it meanwhile up in North Wales have been real we have actually got a climb of the week thank goodness yeah this one's in from Michael on his trek path flight lt9 as well as this looks pretty tech Michael thanks very much for saving the day saving the climb of the week on the elasticated ones obviously coming from Toey and we've got the new one is what I've tracked I think this called like an elasticated thing he praises these zip-tie on the back ec potion it retracts every time you unhook it but keep an eye out for more of Chris Smith's kids taxi rides and coming up in the future on the MV M so in the comments if we'd be able to load a call feedback on how much faster is Annie mountain bike compared to a standard mountain bike bob bobbi's said not bothered about the times it's all about being able to climb to the places I couldn't manage before and not get in there a physical wreck I stopped all the time to admire the view and listen to the forest yeah and listen from swh to on my 2017 special enduro I would do a 12 mile loop and enjoy 10% of it I'm like 2019 power flight 7 LT I'm doing a 20 mile loop at twice the pace and a hundred percent enjoyable yeah I get that then William Laura man he's saying the good thing about ebikes you can decide whether you want a workout or a nice easy ride yeah seems everybody is getting the bike in a thing we are all around in Canada Steve so this is written from Tim he's got a trek power flight effort he says he's got the bike back in May and has already put 7,000 kilometers on it use it as a commuter around Ottawa and then converted it to a touring machine and rode at 4300 k2 in venire BC respect well I might say respect when I got there I put some Max's minions on it and covered hundreds of K in the amazing Purcell mountains now back in Ontario ride every day to school and travels on the weekend no there is a man that seems to be enjoying himself this yeah just showing our versatility I'll just check the places out as well so ride slicks on their full camping gear yeah there's got
