The build quality, however, is generally fantastic. It feels sturdy and strong, the clip to hold the fold in place never feels like it’s coming loose and the wheels feel like they can conquer anything. Also the suspension system is quite impressive and isn’t even included on the non-folding Ancheer Electric Mountain Bike. This suspension system and the strong frame help give the Ancheer the ability to comfortably hold riders who weigh up to 150kg (330 lbs).
Rented a pretty decent Scott. Did some nice mixed terrain but only for a day. Firstly it was great fun. Hard to get away from that. The pedalling felt good. It was like everything was a slight downhill. You can pootle or give it a few hard pedals and fly along at any time. On the flat, uphill, on bumpy grass, all felt like downs once you pedaled a lttle. Good connection between the pedalling and the movement. Smooth delivery. It just took the terrain and slope out of the equation. Could’ve easily got away with less power. It would be an expensive buy. This one was 3.5k but kitted out like a £500 halfords special. Once the price comes down they will be everywhere.
Meter with 3-speed smart buttons: The speed button helps you to choose how first you want to go. The bike is by default at ‘’low’’ level. To increase the peddle assist level, press the ‘’+’’ and you will switch from low, to mid or high. “High” is the maximum level that will provide fast speed while pedaling, and to decrease speed level you need to press the ‘’-” button. The ’-” can also be used to eliminate the three pedal assist levels and switch into pure E-bike where you are only required twist the throttle as you cruise all the way.

UPS delivered one day later than the expected delivery date. It was a little frustrating, but one day is just one day, so can't be all too upset. Box arrived in good condition. Inside the box, the bike seemed to be packaged well but there were issues. The left gear shift handle was snapped off. Homdox was notified and they said they would send a new one (handle, gear shift, bike.... not sure, assuming a new gear shift).
A few days after receiving the bike I received an email from Homdox asking if everything arrived ok and how the bike was working out. I let them know about the broken handle on the gear shift and sent them pictures. They replied on the first business day that followed stating they'd send a replacement. So... impressions right now are good. Hopefully the part arrives quickly and is in fact the right part.

I was up at Aviemore last September and borrowed the Scott E-Spark from Bothy Bikes and within an hr i returned to the shop with a stupid goofy grin on my face and ordered the Scott E-Genuis 710+, i had to wait 4 months till they were released but David got me one of the first to arrive and i drove up to collect it the following week, i’ve not regretted buying it for one second 😀 .

With 170mm travel, aggressive angles and Shimano’s superbly calibrated STEPS motor, the Focus Sam2 is an enduro bike with a built-in shuttle. With the bolt on TEC pack you really can climb to new heights, but without it the smaller capacity internal battery means you need to be ultra economical with your energy use. It’s also frustrating that the internal battery can’t be removed easily for charging. By far the biggest frustration with the Jam2 though is that the sizing isn’t very generous and standover clearance is limited. It’s still a great e-bike, but when you’re spending this much money, you can afford to be fussy.
So whether you want to achieve physical fitness or just want to avoid daily traffic to work or school, the Ancheer Power Plus has got you covered. But of course, if you want to achieve maximum benefit out it as a workout tool, you will have to do more of the peddling than cruising. It also offers a convenient alternative when you want to hit the rough terrain or long distances where peddling all the way is not an option.
The fit is a little rough for me. I'm tall, about 73 inches, and I feel like the bike is small. I've ridden a few dozen miles to include a trip with a kids trailer towed behind, and it hasn't been really uncomfortable, but a little cramped compared to my Schwinn Trailway 28"/700c hybrid bike. Seat adjusts up but feels tilted back a little more than I would like. I have ridden in shorts and tshirt to the beach as well as khakis and a button up with backpack to work, ok comfort both ways. Perhaps it will just take some time to get used to.

Not sure if there’s any in Southampton but there’s a couple of specialist electric bike shops in the Brighton area that sell them and they seem happy to let people do test rides. Probably the best way to decide if they’re the right thing for you and what you want to do. Would happily accompany you for a ride round Stanmer if you came over this way for a test.
This bike is absolutely great. I will gladly give it a 10 star if possible. However, one piece of advice for any intending buyer; make sure you dry the battery terminals after washing your bike. The bike will not power up once there is moisture at those interface.I have experienced this a few times over the last two months I've had my e-bike. It is annoying when you only find out, at the time you are rushing off to work.

In our view, e-bikes are approaching a crossroads in concept and design. Heading off in one direction are longer travel, enduro-style e-bikes, which are largely designed for cruising up and then blasting back down. Plotting a slightly different course is the idea of a lightweight model that rides much more like a normal mountain bike, but requires more work from the rider. Of the two approaches, both have their benefits, but it’s the latter that gets us the most excited. Once the overall weight falls into the 16-17kg range (the lightest bikes are currently19-20kg) it’s going to be really hard to tell the difference between an e-bike and a regular trail bike on the descents and the flat, but you get the benefit of a gentle push up the climbs.

With an electric mountain bike (or e-MTB) that gives you assistance up to 25kph, it’s possible to pack twice as much riding into the same amount of time. Before this test we thought more travel on an e-bike would obviously be better. After all, with the motor flattening out the climbs, why not have the extra suspension firepower to smooth out the descents? Sounds reasonable, doesn’t it? But in the case of the Specialized Turbo Kenevo Expert, the extra travel and weight make the bike less effective and less engaging on all but full-on downhill tracks. And if that’s your bread and butter, the Kenevo could well be the perfect topping. Here in the UK though, the Vitus proved more versatile, just as capable and way better value.

It is not a off-road motorbike with an electric engine and a throttle. Electric mountain bikes have motors that only work when you’re pedalling. The motor tops-up your pedalling input. It’s called ‘pedal assist’. There are differing levels of assistance (called things like ‘eco’ and ‘turbo’) that you select via a handlebar-mounted control unit. The motor also cuts out once you reach 25km/ph (or faster). There are strict limits on the power of electric mountain bikes; 250w is the maximum nominal power. More powerful than that and the bike requires tax and insurance (like a car/motorbike) and is also not allowed on bridleways at all.

If you really want to see the future take a look at the Fazua Evation, with a battery and motor this system weighs an incredible 4.7kg! The battery only has 250wh, but at 1.3kg you could easily carry a spare in a pack. The really interesting thing about this system though, is the motor and the battery can be removed from the frame, so you really do have two bikes in one.


I think it looks pretty pretty sweet actually I'm really looking forward to testing this one they've also released more downhill orientated bike now this is the SX and it's got a 27 point five inch front and rear but 180 travel and a coil with 170 travel at the back that looks like a downhill bummer basically he doesn't know if you think about like the kinivo and more gravity orientated things like the perhaps the whitey decoy this looks like it fits really nicely in if you want a real long travel ebike so you just gonna be able to shuttle up to the top and blast it back down again so they're the new ones from comments ow they've just been announced next up we've got a couple of bikes from focus now these are using the all-new bosch generation 4 CX motor which is way more compact has a better distribution of power.
The extra grip a 50lb e-bike normally helps to prevent overshooting corners when on the brakes, and bring pure DH-bike-like fun factor on the steepest trails. This electric Orange, however, rides more like a ‘standard’ enduro bike with a motor, which could be good or bad, depending on your expectations and riding style. It’s built tough and delivers stacks of fun in less time than any regular bike can. Adding a motor hasn’t upset Orange’s superb geometry.
The Ancheer Folding Electric Bike is a great product at a great price. It’s pretty good looking, despite the slightly cumbersome battery pack attached to the frame. It has a wide range of features, is very easy to use and comes mostly assembled. The ability to fold it down for easy transport and storage just adds to the versatility and practicality that the bike already has. Ancheer are also said to have a great customer service team if there are any problems. Best of all you get all of this for way less than a $1000. Most quality e-bikes now a days will easily set you back $1000, sometimes several times more.
I haven't quite figured the brakes out yet. The back brake has a lot of rubbing on one brake pad (outboard). I've gone through YouTube and have done everything short of taking the brake pads out and adjusting the springs. Not sure what I'm going to do about it yet. Disk brakes work great though. I do have some annoying squealing but it is probably on me for not having it adjusted right.
Ancheer have installed a three-speed smart meter button so that you can program the bike however you like. This is alongside the 21-speed gear system, which means easy riding everywhere and anywhere and a bike that really accommodates your weight and height. You can ride up to 50 KM on one single charge owing to the powerful battery. The motor itself allows for up to 25KM/H top speeds, of course, the battery won’t last as long if you’re doing this top speed the whole way.

Bosch’s flagship mountain bike system uses a mini drive ring with internal gearing to send its power to the drivetrain. There’s some resistance in the system over 25km/h, but when you first press down on the pedals there’s an impressive surge of power, and it offers good support over a wide cadence range. Its size has an impact on the width of the cranks (the Q-factor) as well as the chainstay length of the frame, and it’s not the lightest system on the market at 4kg for the motor. On the other hand, Bosch is the most established player on the market, and its system has proven itself over many years.

To start off with I love using the bike for work every day, I always used a racing bike for work previous over the last 7 yrs or so, I have had my bike for 4 months now, clocked up 600 miles, in that time it has lost power about 2 times, not a real problem as you reopen the meter, you can be on your way again. I changed the tyres and seat like others did !! I would definitely recommend to friends & Family it's built like a tank very good Quality !!
The suspension works, but there isn’t any true dampening. That means you’re just riding around on springs. On a real full suspension e-bike (i.e. a few thousand dollars) you get actual oil-dampened shocks. Those absorb bumps and dampen the shock. With springs, the bike bounces a few times after bumps, with the energy dissipating through the spring stretching and compressing.
As I said before, going up hills might require some pedaling, but it is SO MUCH EASIER with the motor running. I feel like a higher voltage is used on level 3 pedal assist than can be gotten just using the hand turn, though. It takes a few pedals for the pedal assist to kick in which can be annoying, but it does save some battery on initial acceleration. You also have to be careful pedaling around to park the bike or at a street corner waiting for traffic because you DO NOT want the motor to kick in and send you into a workbench or worse ... oncoming traffic.

My wife has a Scott, essentially a Contessa with a Bosch crank motor. Very heavy thing, bloody hard work with no assistance, but even with assist on progress surely depends on your effort. We don’t do a lot of trail centres, but it’s been fine round Rothie, up to Einich, in Inshriach and up the Corbett behind Kingussie, as well as onroad. Lets us ride together, which would be harder without assist, and is heling her recover from skiing injuries.
my thoughts on Hucksauce's question (electric bike or electric motorcycle? How is it defined?). I own a Honda ruckus, its 50cc its max speed cant exceed 45mph and i don't need a motorcycle license. therefore no motorcycle. If the motor on a E-bike can carry you past 45mph i would consider it a motorcycle. made street legal a E-bike that Exceeds 45mph possible would need a motorcycle license.

this is brick brick loves everything about mountain biking he lives in the world-famous riding destination of Squamish just to be closer to the trails and after only riding the Whistler Bike Park for years he realized that a bike that could pedal up would mean more access to trails and he likes nothing better than ripping down a nice flow trail [Music] but there's one thing that brig doesn't like and he's not the only one in order to get to these amazing girls you've got to earn your turns and well brick doesn't like that part now here's the thing brick isn't a lazy dude he works long hours at the dock on tugboats and in his spare time he's always hiking in the gym or just being in the outdoors so by the time it's time to ride he's already a hurting now this what it's like doing a climbing trail with brick especially when it's time to ride with me someone that rides regularly and doesn't have a problem going uphill when you're pedaling up with brigh with no warning he'll just jump straight off his bike and start walking already he's convinced that walking is just as fast as riding but I would argue that's not true do you think you can walk faster than you could bikers outdate you I mean right now it's not popping the truth technically speaking he has no problem getting out of tricky sections but when the legs start to burn he's off and he's walking again hi bud oh I'll jump in front for a bit the downside of all this is that when I or others start riding up we are often left waiting for brigh to catch up at the top all right this is very going to wait break Rosie yes we're going this way how you feeling now this isn't a video about how much better I am of pedaling up a hill compared to my buddy it's a video about looking at ways that would make it more fun and to ride together because really it's Briggs that gets annoyed about being left behind not me the best thing about riding with him though is that he loves a float and is well way better than me right bike around a parking lot for about you know 30 to 45 seconds one time those dark wasn't wearing proper clothing don't even think I had a helmet on like any other shop demo they swapped over bricks pedals while he watched on and got him set up on the bike they set up the suspension and made sure brick knew what he was doing with the motor controls and then we would head up to a different area of Squamish and hit up a trail that's a little bit more technical than before gonna make you walking even easier the strap doesn't fit don't know much to do well there's no meant to be shut I guess there's no amendable show we headed up to do one of our favourite laps that would normally take us way longer than normal I'm sure you know what's about oh my god they say be careful what you wish for and I wish there pretty good pedal faster and now I'm gonna eat my words I feel I've never seen you go up this little climb damage now you're waiting for me how does that feel good I want to see if you can help me as well on a harness or shoulder if you can pull me along go back hey come back on the tow I was wondering what would happen on these wet and narrow bridges I mean probably hoping for some carnage but no he rode straight over them no problem this is the 50 shade how many times have you pedaled up there non-stop yeah okay just hook context this climb is a little steep and he would normally walk up the whole thing this made the whole ride take longer but now I have a rider that I can chase and pushes me to go faster up the hill but again you knew this would happen I knew this would happen what I wanted to find out was how Briggs felt about it it was obviously easier was it more was it more enjoyable you feel kinds of weird guilt or ever learn any bike no some people think it's cheating you're not racing there we go we were having more fun that's all we want to but what about the doubts will he be able to ride the same going down a trail as before we dropped into the he never wants to do rollercoaster which is awesome and by the way and there's a lot of time waiting at the bottom for him to catch up because it's such a Pedley trail no way over you its point this just like ridiculous it's I don't feel bad climb for me right you know I can climb not nearly as well as somebody like Paul so we go out riding on a pedal bike and you know it just blows me out of the water he's constantly waiting for me stopping and waiting and then you caught me on a bike there's just like these turns the tables now use waiting basically yeah it's really annoying good it's a little different like you know a couple times you went to pedal and I forgot that the bike was gonna give me power right so all the way down to are usually just an eco obviously any more than eco on the way down is just like you know even climbing I left it an eco most of the time I only bought the one bar battery down you know piggy buy one now you got 7,000 bucks you know what I have three bikes maybe I just sell them all on buy one yeah would you add video if I got top dollar for all three of my bikes got what I paid for them sure yeah it's just that he's just to find out into a thing money makes the world go round my friend fifteen hundred dollar bike work your bag off seven thousand dollar bike go and have a good time before I bought this bike I only had a downhill bike and I kind of felt left out you know Paul's a bike park it is limited yeah but with an e-bike it's like hey you want to ride to the top of the world I don't have to put the effort in there you go so if you factor in saving on some bike part yeah I never thought about that you don't need to tell me the e bikes is something that not everyone is found I'm up to speed with the land access issues that a problem for Americans and other mountain bike areas but for me and break this e bike could mean we could ride together and both of us would have the same amount of good times and probably go on more
