A woman blinded in one eye by Brooks Koepka's wayward tee shot at the Ryder Cup has demanded improvements in spectator safety as she claimed she could have died from her injuries. Corine Remande, 49, who is considering suing organisers after being flattened by the "bullet" shot on Friday,  spared Koepka of blame, saying responsibility was with the Le Golf National marshals. Amid pressure on organisers to tell spectators to stand further away from hazardous holes, Ms Remande said: "I hope that this terrible accident will improve safety for the public." The R&A, which organises The Open next year at Royal Portrush, has said it is already carefully planning viewing areas at the Northern Ireland venue to maximise spectator safety. Ms Remande, from Egypt, was watching the action from behind the ropes when Koepka's wayward drive at the par-4 sixth hole struck her in the face. She said she did not hear any shouts of "fore". "There are many marshals on the fairways and they have the responsibility to give us the information to react," Ms Remande told BBC News. Added help on the hills: An extra boost on the hills or when cycling into a headwind is probably the first thing most people think about when they’re considering an electric bike. If you live in a valley where the only way out is up, then having a bit of motor assistance may mean the difference between a happy cycling experience and not cycling at all.
And then add in all of the other e-bike parts including motors, batteries, throttles, speed controllers, etc. All of these parts are mass-produced in China. They simply aren’t available in the US and no one is designing them or manufacturing them. The US would likely have to start by reverse engineering the Chinese products and learning how they produce them. How’s that for irony?

This is a well designed and engineered bike, with Shimano Nexus components and a Bosch Performance electric-assist mid-drive system. The integrated ring-lock will help deter would-be thieves, but it’s always best to back this up with a dedicated bike lock.
You should also think about how much gear you are going to need to carry. The reason this will affect your decision is because some electric bikes don’t have the capability to mount a front rack while others do. Plan on doing a 3-day trip? You could probably get away with just a rear rack. My advice though would to be to purchase an electric bike with the capability to mount a front rack as well. This way, if you decide to plan a longer trip in the future, you can simply buy a rack and be on your way instead of potentially having to buy a new bike.
The Dash is an excellent, low-cost option for those looking for an intro to e-bikes kind of ride. The TranzX motor will take you up to 28mph for about 16-35 miles per charge–more if you’re conservative with the assist. The components aren’t too shabby either. Shimano M365 hydraulic disc brakes keep you safe, the Shimano Deore SGS drivetrain, and RockShox Paragon fork with 65mm of travel make it a great entry level option.

We found the Groove motor a little laggy in engagement, with often almost a full rotation of the cranks before the assist engaged - compared with the Gazelle and Vanmoof, the pick-up was frustrating. Putting our issues with the assist to one side, we couldn’t fault the aesthetic: we loves the semi-mixte frame style, a practical non-gender specific design.

Some, like the Yamaha system, have more torque and others are quieter. But generally all four make good options. Look for motor output (in watts) which will give you an idea of total power. But watt hours (Wh) is perhaps a better figure to use—it takes into account battery output and life to give a truer reflection of power.
